I think the Black Panthers and the nonviolent protesters could have worked together, but indirectly. The Black Panthers were willing to be violent. As many people have previously mentioned, nonviolence seems to be the more effective method. If the nonviolent protesters directly worked with the Black Panthers they would become protesters that when aggravated became a riot. That would have gotten the wrong type of media attention. I do think the nonviolent protesters could work indirectly with the Black Panthers, by donating money and helping with court cases. In the book, Sam's dad helped the Black Panthers even though he disagreed with their methods. I liked this book, it was interesting and held my attention. Even though the characters were fake I could imagine that they were real. The ending was sad, but realistic.
