I think I would side with Sam and Stick's father. But I can see why Sam would want to join the Black Panthers, as his brother, and many friends are involved. It goes against the principle Sam was raised on by his father. To not fight fire with fire, or two wrongs don't make a right, or just simply not to resort to violence and to stay calm, and to always act with nonviolence. I think siding with his father would probably be the best option.
