If I were Sam, I would side with his father. It is safer, and he has more experience than Stick. It is the peaceful, nonviolent way that Sam grew up with, and he has his father's approval. He said himself that he hated disappointing his father, and becoming involved with the Black Panthers would mean trouble with his dad. Even though it would be hard to NOT follow Stick, it would be the best decision in my opinion.
