I think that Sam should side with his father. In the long term, nonviolence will have a far better effect than violence. His father has been seeing this issue from an adult standpoint for years. Stick has not had as much experience. Sam should stay with the one who knows more. If he wants to change others he should gather more knowledge so that he can do more good.
